What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis (a very relaxed state of being) to access suppressed memories or to change unhelpful behaviour and thought patterns, with the aim to enhance and promote positive change in the individual.
The state of hypnosis used in hypnotherapy is a very relaxed and focussed state of consciousness, which your therapist will guide you into in order to allow recovery and deep healing to occur.
What happens in a session?
Before a hypnotherapy session takes place, the therapist will meet with you to discuss your aims and hopes for the therapy. This will enable the therapist to modify and tailor the session to your requirements and individual needs. This pre-hypnotherapy consultation will also allow you to ask any questions and for the therapist to address any areas of concern.
During a hypnotherapy session the therapist will use different relaxation techniques to bring you into a place of hypnosis from which point an intervention can be facilitated around your particular needs.
