I am a qualified Integrative counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (membership number: 00988788). I have experience of working both within the public and charitable sectors with clients of different ages.
Alongside my therapeutic practice I have many years experience working as a nurse in the NHS in different specialities including Sexual Health & HIV; Women’s Health and Palliative care. I have seen the benefits of counselling both in my personal and professional life which led me to study further to complete my counselling training.
As an Integrative counsellor I am trained in many different approaches, including; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person Centred, Narrative and Transactional Analysis. Due to this type of training I will tailor our sessions using a method or approach which will suit you and your needs in order to give bespoke and individualised therapy. I work in partnership with my clients to gain understanding of the issues they face and use my experience and training to help us work towards positive outcomes together. As a trauma informed practitioner I work with individuals to help process and heal from the ongoing effects of distressing experiences which may be effecting their thoughts, behaviours and physical health in the present time.
I am also a trained hypnotherapist and can offer this as a separate therapy to counselling or both can be integrated into your course of therapy sessions.
Outside of work I am at my happiest when outside, exploring nature and when surrounded by family and friends.
I look forward to hearing from you.
